Birdsboro artist makes a name For herself as a muralist
While her school friends were doodling — Kingsbury was honing her craft, selling her artwork and contracting her services.
And she has never looked back. “I started doing commission work while I was in grade school. My whole family are artists. I was doing logos and portraits and landscapes when I was very young. In fact, it’s how I bought my prom dress,” Kingsbury said, adding that she was always entrepreneurial. “I had my first mural commission as a teen. I did a big hallway mural for a friend’s parents, and they still commission me to this day.”...

In Muraled Malvern, Artistic Masterpieces Are Just Around the Corner

Mural a manifestation of Hamburg’s manufacturing might
Putting the finishing touches on a mural at Hamburg Manufacturing Co., artist Carrie Kingsbury emphasized the importance of public art.
“I like my work to be historical and educational,” said Kingsbury, 50, owner of Promiseland Murals in Birdsboro.

Sunday could have been a terrible day for Carmen and John Kosmerl of Muhlenberg Township. Their son, Anthony, died in May of a drug overdose, and Aug. 21 would have been his 25th birthday.
“We didn’t know what to do,” John said. “We thought of running away and leaving town.”
Without knowing the significance of the date, the Rev. Fred Opalinski, interim pastor at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church in Reading, suggested it for the dedication of a mural in memory of their son. ...
